Syrian Minister Visits Monuments in Shiraz

TEHRAN Syrian Electricity Minister Munib Saim Ad-Daher arrived in Shiraz on Thursday to visit the historical monuments in this central Iranian city.

The Syrian minister visited the tomb of Hafez, the great Iranian poet of 14th century, and Eram Garden in Shiraz. He also visited a power substation near Shiraz and was briefed on the recent developments in the Iranian power generation technology.

Ad-Daher expressed wonder at the historical heritage of Shiraz and described the city as the center of scholars and poets of the world.

He emphasized that Iran and Syria offer a model for friendly and brotherly ties between the Islamic countries and no power is able to separate the brother and Muslim nations and high ranking officials of Iran and Syria.

He also said that the relations between the two countries are very friendly, and demanded the development of technical and economic cooperation between Iran and Syria.

The Syrian official and the delegation accompanying him left Shiraz for Tehran on Thursday.
